Going outdoors in the Winter? Don't Forget Your Survivalon® Jacket
24th Nov 2018
If you are going to enjoy your outdoors in the winter, you'll want a jacket that is going to be comfortable, provide you with plenty of pockets to store your gear, and keep you warm. In very low temperatures layer with a sweater or down puffy shirt. No jacket fits that description more perfectly than a Survivalon® jacket. Once you see what all it can do, you'll never want to go camping without it.
Features to Know About
Survivalon® jackets all have many roomy pockets, and all of them are water repellent. This is based upon survival architecture so you have a place for everything that you need, including your phone or tablet. There is also a zip-closure pocket that is buried deep in the jacket, allowing you to keep important things safe, such as a passport, cash or even a flask. Basically, anything you don’t want to get damaged by water should be kept in this pocket.
There are pockets on the outside as well. There is a double entry front flap pocket that can be used for keys, change and even phone chargers. You will also find a horizontal pocket that's ideal for sunglasses, although you can also put plenty of other things in there as well — it’s all customizable based upon your daily adventures.
We also use one of the best zippers on the market—the YKK® #10. Back in 1975 when we started using these zippers, they were reserved exclusively for tents. We also use state-of-the-art Velcro, which helps for a quick and easy closure. Other little details include solid brass snaps, a nylon elastic draw cord and more. The jacket is designed with military specs because it was originally designed as part of World War II flight suits.
Finding the Right Jacket
When it comes to your winter clothing, you want to make sure that you have the best gear. This means finding a water-resistant jacket that is going to help you stay warm, regardless of what you may be doing. Whether you are hiking, skiing or doing anything else, you want to make sure that you are bundled up to avoid getting too cold. By choosing a jacket that is also water resistant and windproof, you can be exposed to snow without getting your interior layers wet.
Survivalon® offers several different jackets, most recently the Madison 705. You can choose one that is going to work best based upon what you are going to be doing. The windproof jacket can be lined or unlined, thus providing you with additional warmth should you require it. Visit our website to start shopping for your winter jacket!
